Examples of commercial growth in practice: from building from scratch to restructuring, repositioning and regional growth. Not a method on paper, but what it delivered in practice. Results from my roles at previous employers.
An energy company that did not know where to start
€0 → €7M gross margin
A new division with no customers, no commercial function and no go-to-market strategy.
Built from zero: the proposition, the first customers, and a commercial framework on which the direct-sales channel ran,
from lead generation through to close and retention. In the fourth year gross margin reached €7M.
A listed oil and gas company in the Euro Stoxx 50 (2013 to 2017), as the fifth employee and first commercial hire of the start-up division
The restructuring of Maru
56% revenue growth
Three underperforming start-ups focused on energy and mobile energy. Financial planning and control were missing, and the situation
proved more serious than expected. The organisations were restructured, new terms were agreed with
lenders and investments were made in growth capital. The result was one healthy company with a repositioned
brand, ready for outside investment.

A solar company that wanted to grow regionally
Grew regionally
A B2C solar company. I developed a regional strategy built on word of mouth and local advertising.
The company grew strongly as a result.
